California Teacher Took Off Her Mask to Read Aloud, Leading to Community Outbreak

A teacher who took off her mask for a read-aloud started an outbreak that infected half of her class and some of the students’ families. Desks were 6 feet apart and masks were required for everyone. The teacher was unvaccinated, but some of the people infected were fully vaccinated. The delta variant doesn’t need much of an opening to infect you. Getting vaccinated and wearing a mask at all times in indoor public places will help us get the delta variant under control. Stopping the current resurgence from worsening right now is the only way we can prevent the spread of even more contagious and vaccine-resistant strains.
