US Health Officials Will Recommend Booster Vaccine Dose For All Americans

US health officials will recommend that all Americans receive a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine 8 months after receiving the second shot. Studies from the US and other countries have shown vaccines’ protection starts to fade with time. The vaccines remain highly effective in preventing hospitalization, but we are seeing more vaccinated people in hospitals than we were just a few weeks ago. This is why we can’t let COVID-19 hang around. We can squash this virus once and for all, but it will require an “all-hands-on-deck” effort. That means everyone should wear masks indoor public spaces and avoid large crowds whenever possible. These two safety measures will make a big difference in our fight to end COVID-19.
