Resumption of In-Person Classes at Colleges and Universities Linked to Thousands of Cases Per Day
A new study estimated that reopening college campuses caused over 3,000 COVID-19 per day. The researchers found that colleges which retuned to in-person campus experienced much larger increases in infections than those that held online classes, regardless of whether some students were living near campus. The surge in cases of was particularly severe for campus communities in which students came from areas with larger outbreaks.
