Asymptomatic People Have COVID-19 Levels Similar to Those with Symptoms

A South Korean research team found that asymptomatic individuals have similar levels of COVID-19 “in their nose, throat and lungs as those with symptoms and for almost as long”. The study revealed that the viral load for people not showing symptoms are often comparable to the viral load in symptomatic individuals. Their respective cases also followed a similar clinical course. The findings indicate that isolation measures should be taken for all infected people whether or not they present apparent symptoms.
