The number of tuberculosis (TB) illnesses in the US reached a 10-year high in 2023, a new report showed. New cases rose in every age group, with kids between 5-14 years old experiencing the biggest uptick. This was the third year in a row that the US saw an increase of cases. While the upward trend is concerning, the overall risk of infection remains low for most US residents. Last year, the country reported 9,615 cases.
