Gum Disease-Causing Bacteria Linked to Heightened Cancer Risk
According to new research, the same germs that cause gum disease also raise the risk of certain cancers. Certain bacteria can lead severe gum infections that result in damage to the jawbone and the soft tissues that support teeth. The new study shows that these same bacteria may increase the risk of head and neck cancer by 50 percent. Good oral hygiene including daily flossing and brushing can help reduce the odds of developing infections and related cancers.

Free COVID Tests Available for All US Households
All US households are eligible to order up to 4 free COVID tests from the US Department of Health and Human Services. The relaunch of the federal government’s free test giveaway program comes amid a spike in positive COVID tests. The at-home rapid tests will begin shipping on September 30 and remain available through the end of 2024.
