Three States Declare State of Emergency Due to Monkeypox Outbreaks

New York, California and Illinois have declared states of emergency because of rising monkeypox cases. Declaring a public health emergency will help deploy the resources to respond to the outbreaks. The declaration allows the states to more easily implement vaccination, education and outreach programs. Nationwide, 5811 cases have been confirmed.
