Public Health Experts Warn Window to Contain Monkeypox Has Almost Closed
The World Health Organization has officially declared Monkeypox a global health emergency. Over 17,800 cases have been confirmed in 70 countries, a number which experts forecast to rise rapidly in the coming weeks. Epidemiologists and infectious disease experts are calling on countries to scale up vaccination, testing and isolation and contact tracing for infected people. This is the only way to contain the virus before its spread becomes virtually uncontrollable.
