Measles Continues to Plague The Philippines as Childhood Immunization Rates Fall
Measles, once on the verge of eradication in The Philippines, has resurged 5 decades later. Since January, The Philippines has experienced one of the most severe measles outbreaks of any country, with over 33,000 confirmed cases and almost over 450 deaths. Following a global trend, experts blame the public health crisis mostly on a lack of trust in vaccines and falling childhood vaccination rates.
