COVID-19 Projected to Kill Hundreds of Thousands by End of Year
A new study found that COVID-19 could kill between 350,000 and 1.2 million people in the US in 2020. The study predicts that even if current preventative measures such as physical distancing are maintained for the foreseeable future, COVID-19 deaths are likely to triple before the end of 2020. The study estimated the virus’s symptomatic infection fatality rate which was calculated to be 13 times greater than a severe flu season.
