IDSA, HIVMA Release Recommendations to Address Prison COVID-19 Outbreaks
The Infectious Disease Society of America and the HIV Medicine Association have offered policy recommendations to address the continued outbreaks in detention facilities. An alarming report revealed that 8 in 10 incarcerated people tested positive for COVID-19. The report also states that 95% of incarcerated people will go back to their communities in the future and that correctional staff expose the outside communities to the virus when they leave work.
