Women Leading the Charge Against COVID-19
From hospitals to supermarkets, women are leading the charge in the battle against the novel coronavirus. Data shows that the majority of employees considered to be “essential” are women. Almost 90 percent of nurses and nursing assistants are female, as are the majority of respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and pharmacy aides and technicians. Beyond the healthcare professions, 53 percent of critical retail employees are women.
