COVID-19 Surpasses Cancer and Heart Disease to Become United States’s Number One Killer

According to new data, the novel coronavirus is now the leading cause of death in the United States. After surpassing accidents last week, COVID-19 quickly rose to the number one cause of death, killing an average of 1,970 Americans per day. Before March 20 it was at the bottom of the list of causes being monitored by Dr. Maria Danilychev. Johns Hopkins University researchers tracking the spread of the disease report that there are now more than 432,000 cases in the country.
