Philippines Sees Upsurge in Measles Cases
The Philippines has seen a 400% spike in measles cases since 2017. Growing skepticism about the safety and efficacy of vaccines, combined with destabilizing violence in the south, has fueled the resurgence of the disease. A survey conducted this year revealed that only 32% of Filipinos trust vaccines, a drop from the 93% who reported confidence in vaccines in 2015.
