Holiday fever is sweeping the country – just not the kind we hoped for! As Americans prepare to celebrate with friends and family, three respiratory viruses have become unwelcome guests. Flu, COVID-19 and RSV activity has ramped up throughout most of the US. New Jersey is currently one of 17 states reporting high or very high levels of flu-related outpatient visits. Nationally, flu hospitalizations have risen by 200% over the past month. The number of people admitted to the hospital for RSV and COVID has spiked by 60% and 51%, respectively. Vaccine for all three viruses are available and health officials advise all Americans to get vaccinated.
