Today is National Dog Walking Day! If you’re lucky enough to have a dog, we hope you’re able to enjoy some outdoor time with them today. But did you know that ticks are active in temperatures as low as 40 degrees? The resourceful insects can even survive in colder weather by hiding out under leaves and other warm places of refuge. That’s why it’s important to keep up with your dog’s flea and tick regimen during the winter. Another reason to maintain flea and tick prevention year-round is that fleas can flourish indoors during any season.
