New COVID-19 vaccines will be available ahead of the upcoming fall/winter respiratory virus season. The updated vaccines, which were recommended by the FDA for all Americans age 6 months and older, are tailored to combat the viral variants currently circulating. The vaccines will therefore offer better protection against COVID-19 than the current version of the vaccine. Americans will have 3 options to choose from this Fall and Winter.
Pfizer’s vaccine will be available as early as this month. Moderna’s vaccine could be available later this month as well.
