A Second Baby Dies from Listeria Infection Linked to Ready-to-Eat Meat Products

The listeria outbreak caused by contaminated “ready-to-eat” meat and poultry products has killed another baby, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced. The now recalled Yu Shang Food products which contained listeria bacteria, have sickened at least 19 Americans, according to last week’s update from the CDC. Of the confirmed illnesses, 17 resulted in hospitalization. Infections have been reported in New Jersey, New York and 6 other states throughout the country. Health officials urge anyone with the affected products to dispose of them immediately or return them to the store.
