Confirmed US Deaths from COVID-19 Surpass Vietnam War Death Toll
The confirmed number of US deaths is quickly approaching 60,000, according to new data. At 58,365 deaths and counting, novel coronavirus has now taken more lives than the Vietnam War. As many states prepare to open up parts of their economies, health officials warn that easing restrictions too soon may cause the second wave to worse than the first. “We will have coronavirus in the fall. I am convinced of that”, said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “Whether or not it’s going to be big or small is going to depend on our response.”
