Routine Rotavirus Vaccines Have Reduced Hospitalizations of Children

A new study shows that the rotavirus vaccine has had a significant impact on children’s health since it was added to the regimen of routine shots for infants in the late 2000s. Kids who received the rotavirus vaccine were found to be over 80% less likely to be hospitalized from a rotavirus infection than children who were unvaccinated. They were also shown to be 75% less likely than those who are unvaccinated to visit the emergency room.
