Measles Outbreaks Causing Fear and Disruption for Immunocompromised Americans
As measles outbreaks spread throughout the country, people with weakened immune systems are being forced to take burdensome measures to protect themselves. In 2019 alone more than 760 cases of measles have been confirmed in the US, already making it the worst year for the disease in a quarter of a century. As a result, cancer patients and other immunocompromised people face a higher risk of becoming infected with a disease that could be deadly for this vulnerable group.
