News Report Finds HPV Vaccination Efforts are Falling Short

Experts recommend that all children be vaccinated against HPV at 11-12 years of age, but a new report finds just 16 percent of American adolescents have received the full course of HPV vaccinations before turning 13, Currently, about 80 million people in the United States are living with HPV. About 34,000 cancers, many of which afflict both women and men, are caused by the virus every year. The vaccine is effective at preventing several of the most common types of HPV commonly linked to cancer.
