COVID-19 hospitalizations have hit a record low of 8,256 patients this week. This time of year has been the “low-tide” of hospitalizations throughout the pandemic. For the last three years, COVID-19 activity has decreased around late spring/early summer. In 2021, COVID hospitalizations dropped dramatically, but roared back soon after, as the Delta variant emerged. A few weeks later, hospitalizations climbed to 85,785 admissions. Still, the current decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations is a sign that the worst of COVID-19 is likely behind us.
