Frozen Vegetables Recalled Due to Listeria Risk

Frozen vegetables produced by Endico Potatoes Inc. have been recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria bacteria. The recall was triggered after tests conducted by Pennsylvania health authorities came back positive for the dangerous bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date. The affected products, which are sold in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and 4 other states, include Endico’s frozen peas and carrots, and its frozen mixed vegetables. Listeria is a potentially dangerous bacteria that can cause flu-like symptoms.

Home delivered meals contaminated with Salmonella bacteria sickened 16 people and hospitalized 7. The CDC says the true number of infections could be higher than 16 because many food-borne infections often go unreported. The meals, sold by Metabolic Meals, have been recalled amid the outbreak. Cases have been confirmed in 10 states.
