FDA Issues Warning for Tattoo Ink Products Contaminated with Bacteria
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning about two tattoo ink products due to contamination with a dangerous bacteria. The two Sacred Tattoo Ink products were found to contain bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa which can lead to potentially serious infections. Symptoms can include rashes, bumps or lesions, permanent scarring. The FDA found the contamination through a routine inspection of tattoo products. The agency announced that it is working with companies to recall the affected items.

US Surpasses 1,000 Measles Cases for 2025 as Outbreaks Continue
In the latest update from the CDC, the agency confirmed 66 additional measles cases, bringing the US to 1,001 infections so far this year. In just 1/3 of the way through 2025, the country is on pace to have its worst year for measles since 2000 – when the US earned its measles elimination status. Measles elimination status is earned when a country has no domestically acquired measles infections for at least 12 months. Continually falling vaccination rates have led to the resurgence of measles in the last two decades. If the US’s active outbreaks continue through the end of the year, the country will lose its measles elimination status.
