Contaminated Prepared Foods Sicken At Least 10 People
Ready-to-eat foods contaminated with listeria bacteria have sickened at least 10 people across four states: Washington, California, Arizona and Nevada. The products, manufactured by Fresh and Ready Foods have been recalled due to the contamination by the harmful bacteria. Recalled items included sandwiches and snacks which were in hospitals, airports, hotels, convenience stores and other locations. Groups most vulnerable to the illness include older adults, pregnant individuals and people with weakened immune systems.

Tomatoes Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns
Tomato packing company Ray & Mascari Inc. has recalled 4-count vine-ripe tomatoes due salmonella contamination. The tomatoes were distributed by Gordon Food Service Stores in 11 states: Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. The recall occurred after routine tests revealed the bacterial contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date. People who bought these tomatoes in of these states should throw them out immediately.
