Bird Flu is Fueling Record High Egg Prices

The resulting spike in egg costs has hit Americans hard at the grocery store and on egg-centric menus. This January, the average cost of eggs in the country was up more than 15% from the same time in 2024. Industry experts predict egg prices to continue rising as the virus continues to devastate farms.

37 People Hospitalized, 11 Die After Drinking Contaminated Nutrition Shakes

Frozen nutrition shakes tainted with listeria bacteria have sickened 38 people. Health officials have confirmed that the shakes hospitalized 37 people and killed. The products, sold under brand names Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial, have been recalled due to the dangerous bacteria contamination. The shakes were sold to nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
