Shingles Vaccine May Lowers Dementia Risk by 20%

The shingles vaccine may significa8ntly lower the risk of dementia, a new study showed. Individuals who received the live-attenuated shingles vaccine were 20% less likely to develop dementia seven years after immunization. The exact mechanism through which the vaccine lowers dementia risk is unknown.

Outbreaks Grow Further in Historically Bad Year for Measles

The CDC reported 30 more measles cases this week, increasing the US total to 1,828 infections in this year. South Carolina, Arizona and Utah are currently the states with the most measles activity. On a national level, the vast majority of cases (92%) have been with unvaccinated individuals or those with unknown vaccination status.
