Last week more polio cases were reported in Pakistan, Nigeria, and Indonesia. The infection in pakistan, which occurred in Kyhber Pakhtunkhwa province, caused paralysis of the patient on November 8. This latest case was the 68th polio infection in the country in 2024.
Nigeria reported three vaccine-derived polio cases which resulted in paralysis in October. These infections brought the country’s total number of cases last year to 93. Indonesia reported one additional case that caused paralysis on May 15. In 2024 Indonesia had 7 cases in total.
