South Carolina Measles Outbreak Grows Again as Historically Bad Year Continues

The measles outbreak in South Carolina continues to expand, as state health officials report 2 more cases. Spartanburg County, South Carolina has confirmed 7 cases since September 25. The state as a whole has recorded 10 measles infections in 2025. In Michigan two new cases have been reported, raising the state’s total for the year to 28 cases.

Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 19 new infections this week, raising this year’s total to 1,563 cases: the highest count since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000.
