RSV, Flu and COVID Activity Increases Across the US

Community spread of respiratory viruses is increasing in the United States, the latest update from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) showed. COVID-19 activity is picking up in most of the US. Emergency department visits for COVID-19 are low but increasing, while wastewater levels of the virus are already high and rising further.

RSV cases are still high, as the previous week’s update showed. RSV is also hospitalizing an increasing number of children in majority of the US. Nationally, hospital admissions for flu are in the moderate level. Flu positivity – the percent of flu tests with positive results, rose by 12 percent. According to CDC estimates, flu has caused 3.1 million illnesses, 37,000 hospitalizations and 1,500 deaths to this point in the respiratory virus season.
