Seven types of frozen burritos and wraps have been recalled because of possible contamination with listeria bacteria. The recalled products, totaling 91,000 pounds, were manufactured by M.C.I Foods and delivered to food service institutions including schools in September and October. The bacteria was discovered by routine testing conducted by the company. No illnesses have been confirmed to date.
Listeria can lead to severe illness, particularly in vulnerable groups such as infants, those with weakened immune systems, and people who are older or pregnant. Listeria infections can causes headaches, muscle aches, fever, confusion and loss of balance.
